The Enneagram Program

Understand the depth of the Enneagram assessment tool.

Presented by International bestselling authors and psychologists, Helen Palmer and Marlene Cresci-Cohen, Ph.D., Union Institute & University co-sponsors this training with Enneagram.com, offering an online course on the use and depth of the Enneagram assessment tool which examines internal drivers of behaviors. Union Institute & University is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. UI&U maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

Continuing Education Policies

Union Institute & University sponsors continuing education for psychologists, and maintains responsibility for these programs and their content. Those who attend a workshop and complete the Union Institute & University evaluation form will receive the CE credits as designated for the workshop.

Upon receiving a written request, refunds will be offered up to 30 days prior to an event, minus a $25 processing fee. No refunds will be offered after that time. In the event that a workshop is cancelled, registrants will receive a full refund. Grievances about any of the workshops may be addressed to Union Institute & University CE Program in writing and submitted to CE@myunion.edu.

Professional Teacher Preparation Program

Union Institute & University offers through its Florida Academic Center a series of foundations and professional preparation courses. These courses are recognized and accepted toward Professional Education Certification in the state of Florida.

When taken at the undergraduate level, these courses may be taken for three or four credits. Undergraduate course options include:

  • EDU 330 Classroom Management (includes positive behavioral supports) 3 credits
  • EDU 317 Psychological and Sociological Foundations of Education 3 credits
  • EDU 334 Education Assessment 3 credits
  • EDU 331 Foundations of Teaching Reading 3 credits
  • EDU 335 Effective Instruction Practices (includes teaching diverse learning) 3 credits

A series of Methods of Teaching (specifically for subject areas may also be available). Undergraduate courses are available for teachers who need to complete certification requirements or to become recertified.

Cost

A discounted rate applies to each three-credit course for undergraduate sessions for employed teachers

Clinical Medical Assistant Program

This program is intended for students who want to prepare for an exciting, challenging and rewarding career in healthcare. This program will train students to assist physicians by performing functions related to the clinical responsibilities of a medical office. Instruction includes among other things preparing patients for examination and treatment, routine laboratory procedures, diagnostic testing, technical aspects of phlebotomy and the cardiac life cycle. Students will review important topics including phlebotomy, pharmacology, the proper use and administration of medications, taking and documenting vital signs, cardiology including proper lead placements, a professional workplace behavior, ethics and the legal aspects of healthcare. This program includes 140 hours of classroom lecture and hands on labs and a clinical externship opportunity at a local healthcare provider.

National Certification: This program meets the necessary requirements to take the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) national examination.

Clinical Externship: This program includes a 160 hour clinical externship opportunity. To be eligible for the clinical, students must successfully complete the 140 hour program, submit to a thorough background check, drug screening and meet other requirements.
