Dr. Bonique Morton is a Public Health Practitioner with a focus on Maternal and Child Health and Health and Wellness.  Over the past 2 decades years she has provided Wellness Screenings in corporate environments.  She is passionate about providing a holistic approach to reducing healthcare disparities through wellness screenings, health education, and nutrition counseling.  She has a passion for assisting individuals reduce their risk for cardiovascular disease, hypertension, diabetes and metabolic syndrome through therapeutic lifestyle changes.  Her passion catapulted when she lost her father prematurely at 55 years old.

Dr. Morton began her career as a Payload Engineer with NASA after receiving her B.S. in Physics at Southern University and A&M College.  She went on to receive her Master of Public Health with a concentration in Maternal and Child Health from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.  She served as the Health Education Coordinator for the LA Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program, Aftercare Coordinator, Substance Abuse Counselor, and Health Planner for a LA HIV/AIDS Planning Program.  She culminated her education with a Doctor of Medicine from Xavier University School of Medicine and has over 15 years of experience in higher education and public health.  She is the Co-founder and COO of JB Morton Health, a Holistic Healthcare Practice which works with patients to bring forth optimal health through nutrition counseling, herbal medicine and behavior modification. Dr. Morton is also a certified CPR, BLS, and First Aid Instructor.

As an educator, Dr. Morton has taught and developed course material for a host of courses including Principles of Public Health, Anatomy & Physiology, Nutrition, Microbiology lecture and lab, Law and Ethics for Health Professionals, Biology, Drug Use and Misuse, Health and Disease, Diseases of the Human Body among others.  She has served as a Thesis Advisor and also does presentations in the community to bring awareness to the urgency of primary prevention and modification of lifestyles to prevent or delay the onset of chronic illnesses.

Dr. Morton serves as a mentor to young women and enjoys educating them about the necessities of incorporating a healthy lifestyle.  Her hobbies include line dancing, participating in 5Ks, spending time with her family and attending cultural events.
