Dr. Daniel Ogbaharya

Dr. Daniel Ogbaharya currently teaches Public Policy and Social Change in the Ph.D. Program in Interdisciplinary Studies at Union Institute and University.  Dr. Ogbaharya has taught among others environmental policy, development studies, and international relations at Western Illinois University. Originally from Eritrea, Dr. Ogbaharya received his Ph.D. from Northern Arizona University in International Relations, Comparative Environmental Policy, and African Politics. He also holds a Master of Arts in International Development, and a Master of Science in Environmental Policy, both from Ohio University.

Dr. Ogbaharya’s research interests lie in the political economy of development and environmental sustainability with a focus on community-based natural resources management in Africa. His peer-reviewed publications have appeared in African Arguments (2015), Journal of Eastern African Studies (2010), Journal of Third World Studies (2009), Development in Practice (2008), Peace Review (2007), and The International Journal of Humanities and Peace (2006).
