Tangela Boyd

Tangela L. Boyd is a Professor at Union Institute & University in the Maternal Child Health program. She has a small private lactation practice and enjoys working with families who need breastfeeding education and support. Tangela obtained a Master of Arts in Health and Wellness with a concentration in Human Lactation from Union Institute & University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education from Alabama State University. Tangela is currently a PhD student at Union Institute & University in the Ethics and Creative Leadership program. She has been an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) for 9 years. Tangela is a Certified Childbirth Educator, Certified Postpartum Doula, and Certified Lactation Educator through CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association). She is a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) through the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice and a CPR/First Aid Instructor through the American Red Cross. Tangela is a member of ILCA (International Lactation Consultant Association) and USLCA (United States Lactation Consultant Association).

Tangela enjoys writing, traveling, and shopping. She has recently written an easy to read breastfeeding book titled Mommy’s Gift to Me. You can find Tangela spending quality time with her family or at a beach in the Central Florida area!
